HR on Tap Human Resources Services

My name is Chantal Walton, and I first set up HR on Tap® in 1998.  Leaving corporate life was an opportunistic leap that fortunately paid off!  Since then I’ve helped businesses large and small, UK-based and international, in hospitality, manufacturing, food production, financial services, retail, business services, facilities management, leisure, not-for-profit and public sector to name a few. 

I’ve never been one for an “Ivory Tower”!  My approach is backed up by a strong fundamental understanding of business and sound up to date knowledge of employment law.  These two elements are key to being able to help businesses to achieve their goals.  Whether it’s about achieving cost savings, reducing exposure to risk, becoming more competitive or delivering a complex project, the focus is on achieving the required results.

Sometimes my work involves helping businesses to take tough decisions, and sometimes this has difficult consequences for employees.  I don’t believe it helps either the business or the employee to shy away from these decisions – ignore them and the problems just get bigger.  But equally I believe tough decisions can still be taken with empathy and responsibility that recognizes the human impact and helps people to deal with change and move on.

When I’m not working with HR on Tap®, I run a second business, an online equestrian retail site “Equichoice”.

Outside of work I’ll usually be found with one of my two passions – my family or my horse, “Equichoice Cassandra Rose”!  Cassie and I ended our first dressage season together in 2008 with a championship win and my goal for 2009 is to write a piece of music for us to compete at dressage to music
